We're proud to share that Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia has partnered with TRS Health to operate the Access2Health Smart Pod in Aldine. We're excited to bring affordable primary care, mental health counseling, and on-site lab services to one of the most medically underserved communities in Harris County.
The pod sits at Harris County Precinct 2's Deputy Darren Almendarez Community Center, part of Precinct 2's effort to bring essential services directly into the communities that need them most. We're now operating out of this location every Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
"My desire for Precinct 2 is making it the best place to live, work and play. Having access to quality healthcare impacts how residents navigate and live life. I want everyone in Harris County, regardless of their resources or neighborhood they live in to have access to the kind of world-class care available at the Texas Medical Center.
With the Aldine area traditionally being one of the most under resourced and underserved communities in the county, my team was intentional in partnering with a provider who will provide healthcare resources that align with our Access2Health initiative. TRS is the right organization to do the job"
Adrian Garcia, CommissionerHarris County Precinct 2
Our founding mission is to eliminate cost as a barrier to primary care. Since 2018, we've served over 21,500+ uninsured and underinsured Houston-area patients, saving them over $6.6M in healthcare costs. No one has been turned away for inability to pay.
"Most of our patients don't have insurance. They've gone without primary care for years because every other option costs too much. Bringing TRS Health to Aldine means Northeast Houston families finally have a $50 doctor's visit close to home."
Shaida Hussain, Executive DirectorTRS Health
Primary care, sick visits, annual wellness exams, physicals, and chronic disease care will all be offered for $50 per visit. Affordable mental health counseling, lab testing, and prescription services will also be available on-site. No insurance is required, and no citizenship documentation will be requested.
