When to see a doctor: if you feel depressed, make an appointment to see your doctor or mental health professional (which you can do here at TRS Health!). If you’re reluctant to seek treatment, first talk to a friend or loved one, any general healthcare provider, faith leader, or someone you trust.

When to get emergency help: If you think you might hurt yourself or attempt suicide, call 911 immediately. You can also call a suicide hotline number, 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255), or reach out to a close friend, loved one or someone you trust. If you have a love one who is in danger of suicide or has made a suicide attempt, male sure someone stays with that person. Call 911, and if you can do safely, take the person to the nearest hospital emergency room.

Mental Health Treatments We Offer

Anxiety

Generalized anxiety disorder can occur in both adolescents and adults and significantly affect daily life. In addition, generalized anxiety disorder can occur in conjunction with a variety of other mental health disorders, such as depression. Medical intervention and psychotherapeutic treatments can help clients cope with their feelings of anxiety.

Depression

Depression is a mood disorder that causes feelings of sadness and a consistent lack of interest in day-to-day activities. Those who suffer from depression report that the disorder negatively affects the way they think and act. Depression can lead to physical and emotional problems, including anxiety, agitation, feelings of hopelessness, outbursts of anger, loss of interest in normal activities, and in severe instances, suicidal thoughts and actions.

ADD/ADHD

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are neurodevelopmental conditions that affect a person’s ability to pay attention and control their behaviors. ADD and ADHD are typically diagnosed during childhood, though the effects of these disorders often last through adulthood. Inability to finish tasks, trouble with organization, being easily distracted, and problems staying still are all common symptoms of ADD and ADHD.

Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness affecting the way a person thinks and behaves. Those who suffer from schizophrenia may feel or seem like they have lost touch with the real world and may exhibit issues with memory and concentration, which can distress both the sufferer and their loved ones.

Bipolar

Bipolar disorder is identified by the presence of severe mood swings, from feelings of depressive lows to manic highs. Changes in activity level, concentration, and the success of daily activities are often closely tied to these changes in mood. The treatment of bipolar disorder includes psychotherapy, which TRS Health psychologists specialize in.

Learning Disabilities

Learning disabilities may affect abilities such as reading, writing, mathematics, and non-verbal skills. Getting help for learning disabilities is vital, as they can cause problems with self-esteem and motivation if left untreated. At TRS Health, we are dedicated to helping clients work with and overcome their learning disabilities.

Eating Disorder

When disturbances in a person’s eating behavior occur and their thoughts and emotions related to eating become affected, they may have an eating disorder. Eating disorders like anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating require intervention to be treated properly.

PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a serious mental illness that occurs among people who have experienced instances of abuse or trauma throughout their lives. PTSD can make living day-to-day life more difficult, as sufferers may experience panic attacks, anxiety, and feelings of depression as a result of the disorder.

Autism

Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a general term for a variety of different conditions that are most commonly characterized by issues with speech and non-verbal behaviors, repetitive behaviors, and problems with social skills. Because autism is a spectrum disorder, there are many different subtypes of autism.
